Tribute to Angel Sanctuary

The new banner features the inorganic angel Rociel and the face of Setsuna Mondu. Yes, they are both male. Angel Sanctuary is the most twisted, fucked, and grotesquely beautiful thing I've ever read.

You know the question most commonly asked to writers "where do you get your ideas?"... well, I'll never ask that question to the creator of Angel Sanctuary, Kaori Yuki. Because I really don't want to know. This woman has one heck of an imagination...and I'm wondering how she can possibly be a sane person when the pictures and ideas that materialize out of her brain are so twisted.

Oh and, her artwork is the grotesquely beautiful part...makes me wanna chop off my art fingers... "don't...*chop*...need *chop chop* ...these...*chop chop* anymore"

Answers

1. "Sympathy" - Goo Goo Dolls
I wish for things that I don't need/ All I wanted/ And what I chase won't set me free/ All I wanted

2. "Hotel California" - The Eagles
Her mind is Tiffany-twisted/ she got the Mercedes Benz/She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys/ that she calls friends

3. "Dust in the Wind" - THe Eagles (Although I like Sarah Brightman's version much better)
Don't hang on/nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky/ It slips away and all your money won't another minute buy

4. I don't think I really need to put answers up for this one
With glowing hearts we see thee rise/ The True North strong and free!

5. "Waltzing Matilda" - A.B. Patterson
But the swagman he up and jumped in the water hole/ Drowning himself by the Coolabah tree/ And his ghost may be heard as it sings in the Billabong

6. "Porcelain" -Moby (if you heard this one you'd all reconize it, it's been in a car commercial)
In my dreams I'm dying all the time/ As I wake its kaleidoscopic mind/ I never meant to hurt you/ I never meant to lie/ So this is goodbye

7. "Don't Let Me Get Me" - Pink
Never win first place/ I don't support the team/ I can't take direction/ and my socks are never clean

8. "Hallelujah" - Leonard Cohen (this song is in Shrek 2, not sung by Leonard Cohen though)
Your faith was strong but you needed proof/ You saw her bathing on the roof/ Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you

9. "Calling All Angels" - Train
When children have to play inside so they don't disappear/ And private eyes solve marriage lies cause we don't talk for years/ And football teams are kissing Queens and losing sight of having dreams/ In a world that what we want is only what we want until it's ours

10. "Unholy, Dirty, and Beautiful" - David Usher (This song is so full of emotion and rage, very raw in its presentation. When I listen to it, I feel as though I've fumbled upon a confused individual struggling to stand and then watching that person facing his/herself in an angry epiphany)
Confidence fell through the hole in your pocket/ the simple's illogical so it be logic/ i'm caught in the diaries with all your complaining/ ridiculous grumblings from one who has everything/ leave me unholy and dirty and beautiful be

11. "Angel" - Sarah McLachlan
I need some distraction oh beautiful release/ Memories seep from my veins/ They may be empty and weightless and maybe/ I'll find some peace tonight

16. "Don't Ever" -Missy Higgins
Let's take the train to anywhere/ I wanna feel the wind in my hair with you/ Let's tell them all, that soon they'll know/ how very wrong they were to think we'd never go/ and if you tell me yours I'll tell you mine/ and we will clean the cobwebs out of one another's minds.

17. "The Time of Your Life" - Green Day
Another turning point/ a fork stuck in the road/ Time grabs you by the wrist/ directs you where to go

18. "Everybody Hurts" - REM

My baby's back

So here's the scenario: On Sunday, my parents installed a new basket ball system for my brother. Our little neighbour came to help. We wanted extra stability so we buried the base into the dirt. Our little helper was digging so enthusiastically that he dug up our cable wire and snapped in half.

So we have no cable. Great.

No problem, we called the cable guy and he's coming first thing Monday morning to fix it.

Surely, I can survive a day without internet right?

Okay, so I made it to Monday morning. I pressed the power button on my pc, things sounded normal...the screen took a few more second longer to load...then SMOKE?! SMOKE! AIEEEEH....so I turned off the computer, and backed away from it.

Great, I have no internet and now my computer is fried. What a Monday.

This afternoon, I took the computer to the tech guy. He opened up the tower and said:

"Holy crap, I've never seen anything like this before."

This can't possibly be good.

"Hey come and look at this, look at this fried wire...it's the speaker!"

The speaker wire was black and there was a burn mark where it lay at the bottom of the tower.

There I was, crossing my fingers and praying (even though I'm not religious) that at least my harddrives are okay.

He plugged in a new speaker, a new power box and...everything is perfect.

He then turned around to me and said "You are the luckiest person on earth right now. Everything is working. To be honest, when I saw how fried that wire was, I was sure that your entire computer is gone, and I was only hoping for 50% recovering. It's very easy for a short circuit to fry your motherboard. You should go and play some Lotto649"

So I got my computer back...with a new power box, a new speaker, and a black wire burn mark at the bottom of the tower.

The Procrastination Bug is VERY Contagious

Si... Silicon
You scored 45 Mass, 29 Electronegativity, 51 Metal, and 10 Radioactivity!
Interesting. Take a bunch of really common person-elements and throw them together to get something truely exceptional... that's you. You are probably someone that gave up on trying to understand society at large a long time ago. You don't fear it, but you don't try to be one with it either. You are more or less unperturbed by things... if a problem comes up you might deal with it, or you might avoid it... whatever. You don't take kindly to people pushing you around, and you don't really push anyone else around. You're probably the only one that can tame oxygen simply because you don't understand it's raging neediness, but that doesn't mean that you'll really enjoy having a tame oxygen hanging around all that much either. You can probably get along with people like yourself really well, but you aren't your own soulmate... if only they could make entire colonies of people like you you'd be stoked. Just like you don't understand society, society doesn't understand you... and yes that is my excuse for not knowing how to describe you better.

My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

Unbelievable

Guess what guys? I figured out the solution to a 25mark question on my final exam 5 minutes AFTER I handed in my paper while I was in the washroom.

Yes, I'm kicking myself real hard right now.

I'm just praying that no on else in the class got the question so that the prof would adjust the average.

I'm in so much pain right now.

Random

As I'm sitting here in front of a computer monitor, typing out my Pathology notes (yes this is my version of I'm writing out my notes), I noticed how tense my shoulders were. So I gave my shoulders a rub and thought "Wouldn't it be nice if there was another me so I can give myself a massage?"

ARGH! It's too short!

Okay, so I decided to donate my hair again to Locks of Love this year, another nine inches oh yeah.

But...the hairdresser cut my hair way way way too short for my liking. I'm performing at War Memorial Hall tonight with the Concert Winds...I'm going to wear a wig.

And no, no photos until it grows to a reasonable length suitable for photographing.

"I'm sooo smart, S-M-R-T, i mean, S-M-A-R-T"

I feel like Homer lately. Or just mainly today.

No, I'm not craving donuts every 1/2 second. But I'm having D'oh moments...too many for my liking.

Okay, so I'm supposed to have already found a professor to be my supervisor for my fourth year research course. As many of you may not know, I HATE LABS (with a passion!) so a hands-on research course would be the last thing I'd want to invest tuition in right?

Wrong!

It's a requirement for my degree program - 1.0 credit points in research courses. And I can't go with the cope out method and take classroom courses discussing the scientific process, mainly because I went on exchange and the only way I can graduate on time is to do hands on research in the summer.

So, to repeat, it's important for me to find a professor to be my supervisor for my fourth year research course.

I knew this, probably even before I left for Sydney, but what did I do? NOTHING.

D'oh!

So I haven't found anyone to be my supervisor. I have asked around, but as far as I know, all the professors are taken by this time of the year. If I had sent out emails a month ago (like everyone else has done), then I wouldn't be stuck right now.

So...here I am, totally stuck. The worst case schenario is not graduating on time. I've sworn to myself(and to my mother) that I will graduate on time despite the exchange to Sydney.

And mainwhile, I've left this rather important matter until the last minute and realized that i'm royally screwed.

D'oh seems to be an understatement here.
